Scholarship Coverage
The Birkbeck International Scholarships offer the following amounts to recipients (tuition fee-only, first year only):

Note: Scholarships cannot be held in conjunction with any other full scholarships (e.g., Chevening). A £200 non-refundable deposit must be paid within two weeks of being selected for the scholarship.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for Birkbeck International Scholarships, candidates must meet the following requirements:

- Language: English
- Eligible Regions: Sub-Saharan Africa, Central Asia, South Asia, South East Asia, East Asia, the Caribbean, Latin America, and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).
- Status: International overseas tuition fee-paying student holding an unconditional offer for a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate taught program at Birkbeck, starting in Autumn 2023.
- Residency: Ordinarily resident in a country in the relevant region.
- Funding: Self-funded.
- Fee Classification: Classified as an ‘International’ tuition fee payer.
- Exclusivity: Only one scholarship award per student, and cannot be held in conjunction with any other scholarship.

- Sub-Saharan Africa: For nationals of and residents in Angola, Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Congo (Brazzaville), Congo (Democratic Republic), Côte d’Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea, Eswatini, Gabon, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Tanzania, The Gambia, Togo, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe.
- Submit Statement: Submit a statement (no more than 4,000 characters) detailing why you are the ideal candidate for the scholarship.
- Notification and Deposit: If awarded the scholarship, you will be notified by email and must pay a £200 non-refundable deposit within the timeframe stated in your award letter (typically five working days).
- Enroll: Successfully enroll for the Autumn 2024 intake, no later than 8 October 2024.
