Accommodation: Includes one year of catered accommodation in a single room at a University of Auckland Hall of Residence.
Technology: Provides a laptop supplied by the University of Auckland.

To qualify for the Vaka Moana Scholarship, applicants must:

Be of Pacific descent and a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident.
Be in their final year of secondary school or kura.
Plan to enroll full-time in an undergraduate degree, Tertiary Foundation Certificate, or Certificate in Health Sciences at the University of Auckland in the following year.

Selection for the scholarship will consider:

Academic Performance: Based on results from the previous year of study.
School Endorsement: Evaluation of the quality of the endorsement from the applicant’s school.
Additional Achievements: Involvement in cultural activities, leadership potential, and accomplishments in academics, sports, or arts, as well as community involvement.
