Scholarship Award Details
- Scholarships are awarded three times per year: Spring, Summer, and Fall semesters.
- Funds are paid directly to the school or organization providing the education/training.
- Scholarships are granted for one semester at a time, but applicants can reapply for additional semesters.
- Recipients must provide their full social security numbers and grant permission to have their names published on the Foundation’s website.

This scholarship is open to U.S. citizens or permanent residents only.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be:
- A licensed, full-time registered nurse or teacher with at least three years of experience.
- Currently enrolled in a college or university with scheduled coursework.
Application Procedure
1. Complete and Submit Online Application
- Visit the online application portal and fill out the form.
2. Gather and Submit Supporting Documents
- Professional Development Plan: A detailed plan outlining your professional development goals and how the proposed course will help achieve these goals within your workplace or overall career. Include specific course/seminar information and the organization offering the training.
- Enrollment Verification & Course Information: Submit three documents:
- Enrollment Verification: A document from your university/organization confirming your current student status.
- Class Schedule: Details of the classes you’ll be taking for the upcoming semester.
- Itemized Tuition Statement: A detailed breakdown of your tuition costs directly from the university/organization.
- Letter of Support (One Page Maximum): A letter of support on official school/medical facility stationery from your principal/supervisor confirming your job description, employment status, and length of service. The letter should also express support for your professional development proposal and its benefits.
3. Sending Your Documents
- Scan all documents (Professional Development Plan, Enrollment Verification, Class Schedule, Tuition Statement, and Letter of Support) and email them to Sandra.Mahoney@TheMahoneyFamilyFoundation.org.
Scholarship Awarding and Renewal
- Scholarships are awarded three times a year: Spring, Summer, and Fall semesters. Funds are paid directly to the school or organization providing the education/training.
- Scholarships are granted for one semester at a time, but applicants can reapply for additional semesters if needed.
- If chosen, recipients must provide their full Social Security number and grant permission for their name to be published on the Foundation’s website.
