APSA $2,000 Stipend Public Scholarship Program (APSA) is thrilled to announce the call for applications for its esteemed Public Scholarship Program for the academic year 2024-2025. This 12-month remote fellowship offers political science doctoral students a unique opportunity to translate complex research into accessible content for the general public. Fellows will receive a $2,000 stipend, participate in comprehensive training workshops, and gain hands-on experience with leading journals, all aimed at enhancing public understanding of political science. Applications, including a CV, statement of interest, and writing sample, must be submitted by July 31, 2024.

Eligibility Criteria
- Doctoral students in political science who have completed their first year of graduate work by the start of the fellowship are eligible.
- Selection criteria include the applicant’s interest in and commitment to public scholarship, as well as their ability to write for a general audience.
- All interested candidates are encouraged to apply, regardless of their current research focus.
Application Procedure
Required Materials
- Curriculum Vitae (CV):
- Maximum two pages.
- Should include contact information, academic department, relevant work and service experience, and academic achievements.
- Applicants with published work in popular media (e.g., The Duck of Minerva, The Monkey Cage) should include these citations alongside scholarly publications.
- Statement of Interest:
- A single-spaced statement of interest (maximum one page, 11-point font).
- Writing Sample:
- A writing sample demonstrating the ability to communicate political science to a general audience (maximum three single-spaced pages, 11-point font).
- This could be previously published work or a 600-word summary of a recent American Political Science Review article. Academic writing samples are not accepted.
